On Saturday came the real breakthrough. We timed it such that we'd ask him if he wanted to go Potty Potty every half hour to 45 mins. And he'd always answer Potdee Potdee! He seemed to like the idea of going to sit on our adult toilet bowl rather than on his own small potty. Finally, after the 2nd time we put him on the toilet seat for the day, PEE!!! It was such a satisfying feeling seeing that tiny stream of water go down my toilet bowl! From then on, he would manage to squeeze something out, no matter how little. We manage to stay diaper-dry for the whole morning, until he took his afternoon nap. And in the afternoon, rather dry until after swim class. As we went out shopping for his toilet seat adapter, we didn't continue the regime in the evening.
On Sunday, we continued the routine at Por Por's house. I was a bit worried that he would not be able to get used to the "new environment". However, he had no problems, and we stayed diaper-dry for another morning! We went out for lunch, and the routine broke there for the day. We finally managed to find the toilet seat adapter for him at Carrefour, and we tried to get him to shit into the toilet bowl as well after dinner, seeing that he had not moved his bowels yet for the day. He obliged, and tried really hard, but nothing came out. Oh well. Guess it'll take some getting used to.
Now...the trick is to get the childcare teachers and my mother in law to continue! We're so excited. Diaper free baby, here we come!
