His cough persisted, and so did his runny nose.
Mommy did lots of prepping in the car. "we're going to see dr tan... remember dr tan put the thermometer in your ear? he use the stethoscope to listen to your heart and lungs... and he use the ice cream stick to peep peep into your mouth?"
Ignatius stared hard at me, seeming to connect what I was saying to what happened just last week. His eyes were big and round, and he looked... mildly petrified.
When we got to the clinic, he did not want to go in. But the haze was too bad for us to loiter around outside, waiting for his turn. Thankfully the wait wasn't long, and Ignatius cried on cue when we entered Dr Tan's room. Mommy tried to continue chatting happily, while describing our little boy's ailments to the doctor who has since recovered his voice. Ignatius understood my instructions, and obediently let the doctor take his temperature, and listen to his lungs. The mouth check didn't sit well with him though, and he prefered to bite the ice-cream stick.
The verdict? More Prospan, and Ventolin! Horrors! I updated Dr Tan that he didn't take to Ventolin very well the last time he had bronchitis, and had tremours. I crossed my fingers and asked if he had Singulair...which Ignatius' PD had prescribed before, and worked really well. Dr Tan chuckled and said he did, but it wasn't his first line of prescription as it was EXPENSIVE. Sigh...so what else about Ignatius is new...? He's been an expensive kid the day he was born... (how many kiddos chalk up $9k in delivery charges?!)
Anyway, I'm glad that Dr Tan has Singulair, and we do not need to troop to the PD for his stash. He's taken his meds, and is sleeping now. I hope he recovers soon. Pains us to hear his phlegmy painful cough.
