11:23 pm - Our week together pictorial blog 24 Jun to 2 Jul

Daddy and Mommy had the week off to spend with our boy.

We didn't do much on Monday, but the rest of the week got off to a glorious start!

24 June Saturday
Daddy let Ignatius self feed as he had his lunch. Ignatius psycho-motor skills seem to have improved quite a bit from the last time! He managed to scoop a few grains of rice and feed himself without them dropping off his spoon.

*postscript: as the week progressed, he got bettter and better at it. Not fully ready for self feeding, but ok for tandem feeding.

That night, we went to the Night Safari. Here's Ignatius looking like he's ready to pop to bed! As per the previous entry, we were amazed at Ignatius developing awareness of the things around him, as well as his burgeoning vocal capability.

25 June Sunday
Ignatius had his first "authentic" low table Japanese lunch. We were at Sakae Sushi at Wheelock Place and they gave us the bench tables. It was a nightmare eating and keeping an eye on a roaming toddler!

27 June Tuesday
~Breakfast at MacDonald's~
We headed for east coast park bright and early for some cycling and tanning. Since the adults hadn't had their breakfast yet, we stopped by MacDonalds'. Of course the little rascal demanded for a share, despite having his brekkie and milk already. He loves hashbrowns.

The last time we went cycling with him was quite long ago. Then, he was a docile pre-toddler who sat obediently in his bicycle-seat. This time round, he was jumping and twisting and turning and controlling OUR handle bars and pointing left and right and screaming at passers-by...what a riot!
A little treat waited for him at the Bedok Jetty. A kindly old man was fishing, and saw our boy's fascination at his thumping fish as he threw them onto the floor of the jetty. He very nicely threw some in Ignatius' direction for him to play with! At first Ignatius stood rooted, unsure of what to make of the flapping fish. Daddy picked up one for Ignatius to hold (Mommy: EEEEEEKS!). The little boy didn't seem to have any reservations holding one of them fish (ok, those genes did NOT come from Mommy). He even gamely walked over to the old man's pail and put the fish back in.
After a while, more and more flapping fish accumulated at his feet, he got excited, did a little dance and stepped on one. 'Nuff said. Not a pretty sight.

As usual, the fishy fingered Ignatius fell asleep on the way back.
Afternoon it was off to Ikea to shop for some of his furniture.

28 June Wednesday
Daddy will always remeber this day fondly. We bought Ignatius a mattress from Ikea the day before. We placed it on the floor, hoping he'd develop the habit of running to it and taking his naps when he is tired in the day, rather than Mommy carrying him to sleep. On this fateful day, Ignatius ran to Daddy, lay on top of his chest, and went to sleep!

~Wild Wild Wet~

Wild Wild Wet only opens at 1pm on weekdays (excluding Tuesdays). So off we went after Ignatius' afternoon nap. They had several attractions, but as Ignatius is still young, we were limited to Yakult Professor's Playground, Shiok River and Wall's Tsunami. Professor's Playground took a little getting used to as water "rained" everywhere and Ignatius wasn't used to it. He didn't like sitting on the rubber floats in the Shiok River either. The Tsunami he liked, especially when we jumped when the wave passed us, a-la Aussie style. Near the end of 2hrs, we noticed his nails had turned blue, and he shivered slightly. Luckily he didn't catch a chill!

29 June Thursday
Pneumoccocal jab . 80cm 11kg
He developed a fever and we stayed home today. Only went to Ikea for dinner as Daddy wanted Swedish meatballs. We gave him a fishfinger as a treat after he finished his meal.
Dinner at Ikea

30 June Friday
The little boy seemed all better today so we headed out. He had his first try of Orange Julius, and he's hooked. We bought it again another day, and he IMMEDIATELY wanted some!

Guess where we went today?

He INSISTED on getting onto the bicycle. Refused the childish push-rides. Guess the cycling trip must have "spoilt" him. He wants all things adult now! No baby stuff no more!
We also had lunch at Burger King. They made him Jughead for the day.

1 July Saturday
Botanical Gardens with Musketeers. I think this entry deserves one of its own. More later!
