We won 6 Singapore Zoo and 6 Night Safari tickets. So we decided to make a trip down to the Night Safari on Saturday night.
Ignatius took a nap from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, and was raring to go. We reached just slightly before 8pm with A-Gong and A-Ma.
It was the last weekend before the school holidays ended, and boy was the place crowded. Nevertheless, the queues moved fast and we were on the tram in about 10mins. While waiting for the tram, Ignatius had a ball of a time going "Train! Train! Round round!" and widely circling his arms. And when we were waiting for the next one to arrive, he would go "Wey! Wey!" (wait, wait) and do the stop sign with a back and forth motion.
Once on the tram, he obediently sat/stood on our laps while the tram cruised along. This night, his verbal copycat ability surprised us. We duly pointed out all the animals in the dim lighting, and told him the names of each. He could repeat after us, with rather good diction. Of coures, I'm sure that he was merely repeating what we said, and will not be able to recall and attach the names with the animals. We were delighted though, no less.
We thought he would not be able to appreciate the Night Safari. After all, it was well after his bedtime, and the lighting was dim. However, he appeared to enjoy it immensely, pointing left and right appropriately when the animals appeared on each side of the tram. Too bad no flash photography is allowed, hence no pictures.
It was a nice night, but Sunday came and we're all pooped. =)
