Last saturday, we decided to visit the Children's Playland at the Zoo. We always skip this section as they have a nice water play section, and we weren't prepared to get wet.
It was so early, that the sprinkling equipment weren't even turned on when we arrived. Ignatius had fun running around in ankle deep water and splashing around. Then suddenly, the sprinklers all came on. The poor boy was shocked by the loud splashing sounds and demanded to be carried out! It took a lot of convincing to get him back in, and he refused to stand by himself. Sigh.
After getting cleaned up, we went to the Fragile Forest that was just next door. It's an enclosed space that simulates the rainforest. Thank goodness the nasty bugs like beetles and spiders were "trapped" in the logs where you view them through plastic covers. Mommy's skin was crawling all through the short walk. The butterflies had free roam, and it was a pretty sight. Ignatius had his head turned upwards most of the time to stare at the pretty butterflies flitting around overhead. There were nectar spots around where you can get up close to feeding butterflies. There were also bats and sloths and such, but Ignatius loved the butterflies best.
On our way out, the nasty accident happened. He tripped (over nothing!) and scraped his knees. Luckily, he didn't seem to feel any pain, and just got up and continued his ramble through the zoo. Mommy's heart pain though!

Ignatius was really pooped. He fell asleep even before we exited the small road that led to the mainroad.
