Thank goodness Ignatius' loose stools cleared up on Friday. Daddy agreed to let Ignatius attend Mommy's company's Family Day at Sentosa! So we packed for our free Rasa Sentosa stay on Friday.
Our family photo taken that day. Is confirmed. Ignatius looks just like Daddy. Even their smiles (grimace-like) are the same!
Did you ever notice that children are particular careful when walking across the dividing line between 2 different floor patterns? We noticed it some weeks ago. Ignatius would stop at the dividing line, and tap-tap his toe across the line onto the other floor patttern/surface. He's obviously worried that it might be a step, and hence fall down. We, on the other hand, know that it's merely a change in flooring/patterns and can't help trying to hide our mirth while he reassures himself it is safe to continue.
Well, the hotel room had a carpetted area, and a tiled area. It was most fun to watch Ignatius careen towards you and suddenly come to a heart stopping halt (and nearly topple!) at the dividing line. Not just one time, but time after time. My mother-in-law calls that trait Xi4 Xin1 (careful and meticulous). I call it timid. *grin* Makes me wonder if I should do such flooring at home to make him hesitate before entering certain areas!
Here he is ransacking my wallet to call for room service I suspect.

Saturday dawned bright and sunny! Yippee! We proceeded to Tanjong Beach where the event was to be held. We were greeted by 4 skydancers at the entrance. Ignatius cried coz the loud noises they made frightened him. Daddy brought him away and fed him some candy floss! Talk about sweets! After that, we pretty much indulged him. Mommy fed him some popcorn. We were sure to wash them down with plenty of ICE COLD water! He loved it. He would take big gulps of it, and hold it in his mouth. I believe he's savouring the coldness of it. And when it warms up, he swallows the whole gulp. I could just imagine his little tongue swirling the icy coolness around and around his growing teeth and painful gums. A treat for our sweet!
We also brought along our sand set. We bought this previously when we tried to initiate Ignatius to the beach. He handled it like a pro this time round. Several other kids looked on in envy.

Video: Watch Ignatius have a go at digging in the sand.
After that, we ventured down to the water. Thanks to Aunty Babygrace, we had swim diapers! They were meant for use at Marsden, but I figured they would work excellently in the sea as the rubberized leg holes meant no sand creeping in. It worked like a charm. Ignatius couldn't wait to walk right in. The waves didn't bother him this time! He was even willing to sit on the sea bed. He was even willing to dunk his face in, HIMSELF, and blow bubbles!
I think this boy will grow up to like salty food, just like Mommy. It was a pleasant contrast from the last time. He played there till he was so tired, he was sitting there with his eyes closed, but his mouth still curved up in a smile. We felt quite torn between staying there and packing up to go back to the hotel. Nah, not quite. We did the adult thing. We bundled him up and carted him off, much to his displeasure. He cried all the way to the car, and promptly fell asleep when the car started.
Ignatius had his afternoon nap at Granny's place. We had to wake him up for his swim class at Marsden's. He was still a little spaced out when we reached. The session was a mini-disaster. He kept crying. We couldn't understand why at first. Finally we realised that he was cold. Poor boy. We put on a wetsuit for him but the little boy's mood was in tatters already. He hardly enjoyed the class. We must wake him up earlier in future for him to be fully awake, and for his body temperature to rise a bit.

Hey, matthew followed the black tiles "bordering" the corridor at IMM. at first we did not understand where he was walking around the wall. then we realised that he was following the black line on the floor.

haha isn't it amazing the details they notice that we take for granted? *grin*
