5:16 pm - School celebrations

We decided to let Ignatius celebrate his birthday in school this year. Simply because he keeps coming home, singing Happy Birday To You at the top of his voice. I figure that other kids also probably have their birthdays in school, and Ignatius probably had a whale of a time. And I also wanted him to have the experience of him being the focus of attention in school, lest he start wondering (lord knows what goes on in his little mind!) how come he's left out!

So, the task was to get a 2kg cake that was milk-free, and yummy, and in either Thomas the Tank Engine or Bob the Builder shape. Alas, no one could do a 3D cake without milk/cream. So, here's what we ended up with.
We surprised Ignatius by turning up at his school unannounced. As he came out of his classroom, he didn't notice us. When his teachers pointed us out, he stared at us, shocked and unmoving for at least 10 seconds! Long enough to joke among ourselves at his reaction...

Soon enough though, he got all excited and ran over to us. So excited, that he didn't really care about his Thomas cake! His classmates were ohh and ahh-ing over the cake, and it got poked at before the celebrations could begin.

Here's the birthday song. The others seemed more seasoned than he at blowing the candle and cutting the cake!

This is the way we eat our cake... eee.... Ignatius dig his ear and eat his cake...I had a great party!
