10:34 am - Morning Outings

Saturday mornings are for going out. Somehow, Singapore seems less crowded at these times. The air is nice and cool, and it also seems less noisy. But more importantly, we want to tire out our little Energizer bunny so that he'll sleep by 1pm, and wake up fresh for his 3.30pm swim class.

So where do we normally head to? Singapore is rather small, and the places on our list invariably include the Zoo, Sentosa, Botanical Gardens, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. We'll normally pack our lunch and have our picnic meal around 11am.

This Saturday, we FINALLY headed for the Cable Car ride. We've been saying we'll go for the longest time!

Initially, Ignatius was scared in the dark cabin...but got less worried as the car swung out of the building. Then, he got scared of the height. We initially pointed out the objects down below, but he fretted. Hence, we concentrated on things at our eye level, and he soon settled down. He even came down to stand on his own at one point!

At Sentosa, they were having the Flower Show, together with Nursery Rhymes. We thought it was a pretty good idea, as Ignatius could spot many of the nursery rhyme figures, and start chanting the rhymes. There was Hey Diddle Diddle, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Humpty Dumpty, The Little Pigs, among many others. What caught his eye most, were the Dog that Laughed, the Cow and the Moon, the Dish and the Spoon, and poor broken Humpty Dumpty!

Of course, we had to sit on the new Skytrain as well. So it was a short ride to the Beach Station, where Ignatius discovered this!

Somehow, he loved to have the jet of water shoot at his butt! We're not too sure why, as he was wearing diapers...Could he even feel the "jacuzzi" feeling? Anyway, he had fun, and we had a nice lunch after this.

When we took the cable car back to the Jewel Box, Ignatius spied someone feeding the Koi in the pond. Naturally, he HAD TO take a look, and the kind man gave him some koi feed.
It was a nice morning spent outdoors, and Ignatius slept like a log when we got home. We hope to have many more of such outings!
