9:21 am - creatures of habit

I know children are creatures of habit. They like to know what is coming up next, and when it's coming. They get agitated or upset when something goes out of whack.

However, I'm surprised at the degree at which they like routine.

Normally, I try to rotate the breakfast items that Ignatius has for the week. They can be:
1. Pancakes (apple, banana...)
2. Muesli (soaked in soy milk)
3. Bread (milk free)
4. Cheerios
5. Cake
6. Muffins
7. French Toast

However, due to his diarrhoea this week, I've avoided all soy products, and milk, and his breakfasts look like this now:
1. Cheerios
2. Cheerios
3. Cheerios
4. Cheerios
5. Cheerios

You get the idea. And, he couldn't be happier! Every morning, he'd troop to see his box of "see-real", and demand for his SeeReal in his Thomal Bowl. You can tell BwakFast is a time when he's in 7th heaven. Amazing! Now I'm wondering why I've been scratching my head so hard and worrying WHAT to give him! DUH!
