We dedicated last Saturday to potty training.
We started off the morning in Bright Bots training pants.

Ignatius knew he wasn't in diapers, and even after a huge breakfast and 4oz of milk, he refused to pee. We brought him repeatedly to the toilet bowl, to no avail.
After about 1.5hours (8.45am), viola! He could hold it no longer, and finally peed! Here's his R(A) picture...censored of course! Success!... and Daddy whooped with joy.

Back into his Bright Bots pants. We decided the next time to try would be 10.30am. In the meantime, I kept passing his water bottle to him, in the hope of encouraging him to drink, and of course, pee.
However, our plans were to be thwarted.
At about 9.15am, he squated down, and started to poop. I caught him in the act and managed to wrangle his pants off and sit him in his potty after a teeny little bit came out. Unfortunately, that effectively made him exercise his rectal muscles, and no more came out. Back into his training pants.
At about 9.45am, Daddy noticed he REALLY needed to poop. Again those pants got wrangled off, but the potty wasn't in time. A nice rotund banana shaped poop landed on my kitchen floor. Euw. And thanks to the papaya he ate yesterday...you can imagine the smells wafting round my kitchen. Sigh.
Ignatius got really agitated, and we tried out best to reassure him and told him it's all good. And that (smelly) thing on the floor is his poop, and we put it into his potty to show him THAT'S where it belonged (usually). We cleaned him up, and this time, we put him in his diapers.
Although we continued trying to get him to pee in the toilet, we were unsuccessful and ended our potty training when he had his nap at about 11.45am. I think he was really tired out by the toilet visits. He slept for 2.5hours!
So there you go. Our harrowing potty training day. Mommy's now washing all the training pants for another go...some other time.
