8:55 pm - Feeding Part III

This entry is one week late.

Nope, this isn't about Ignatius feeding himself...but him feeding the animals at the Zoo!

We asked Ignatius..."Ignatius, you want to go to the zoo?"
Ignatius : "ZLOO!! ZLOO!!"
hmmm not bad! he SEEMS to know what is ZOO.

So off we went. We seemed to have been to every nook and cranny of the Singapore Zoological Gardens, so it was hard to think of which part to head for. We settled for the Children's Animal Land.

It turned out to be a good choice. The zoo keepers were standing by with bales of hay! Feeding time! Yippee!

First off was the goats. There was one mischievous one that kept hopping out of its enclosure, providing much fun for the little ones who chased it, hoping to stroke it. Ignatius, ever cautious, walked a few steps there and there, but not daring to get up close to the goats. Mommy grabbed some sticks of hay and tried to persuade Ignatius to feed the little goats (or would you call them kids?)

He willingly held the sticks of hay, and waved it around trying to attract the goats' attention. But as soon as one came towards him, he turned-tail and ran into my arms. Well, Mommy never had much patience. I placed Ignatius right next to the fence, and hung onto his arm as the goat was again attracted by his hay waving. Ignatius tried to back away, but was blocked by me. He tried to withdraw his arm, but there I was...holding it firm. When the goat finally took the stick of hay from his hand, he cried! Oh well.

We had Round 2 with the donkeys. This time, he bravely held his hand steady as the donkey reached for the single stick of hay. Alas, the donkey gave a mighty SNORT and went away in disdain. He only wanted bunches of hay! Daddy had more luck holding his hand out with a tiny bale of hay. Poor Ignatius!

The guinea pigs were much nicer to him.

On the way out, we suddenly noticed that there were Orang Utans roaming around above head! It was quite a nice sight and Ignatius FINALLY gave the primates some attention. Then we remembered how the Orang Utan at the Animal Show peed and shat at the post...and we hurriedly walked on.

It was a nice day. And we realised we missed Little Matthew and Little Joshua who were also there that day!
