11:19 pm - We went to the Zoo! 11 February 2006 Part two

We loved the Singapore Zoo so much, we went back the next week!

This time, we took the other route. See our route in Blue this time.

We started off with the Babirusa, often mistaken for the wild boar. We saw the soon-to-be-opened Australian Outback exhibit, and the staff told us it will be opened by the Crocodile Hunter (the series shown on cable tv) himself!

Further on, we saw the Pygmy Hippos. Ignatius was suitable fascinated with them, and we tried to reinforce the name/animal with the Noah's Ark Little People set we have at home. The set has Papa and Mama hippo with a little bird each on their backs.

The White Tiger exhibit was good. One of them seemed really hungry and kept pacing up and down. We imitated his roar, and Ignatius caught on as well!

Elephants were up next. However, we didn't get a close up view of them as they were hiding at the back of their enclosure. We moved on pretty quickly...and fortunately! We were just in time to catch the Wonders of the Wild show next door at the Shaw Amphitheatre.

The show started off with the primates. Ignatius was a bit stunned by a swinging monkey above his head, pee-ing and poop-ing orang utang just feet away from him, but ABSOLUTELY loved the sealion segment of the show! He gamely clapped his hands along with the crowd, and called out "LION!!!" everytime the sealion sprayed the audience with water. You can sense his excitment when he strains forward when the sealion zips back and forth in his tank.

We never realised that babies this young can appreciate the Zoo. You can be sure we'll be back often!
