10:29 pm - 10th Month present

Ignatius turned 10mth old yesterday... and today, he decided to unwrap some gifts for Daddy & Mommy!

The day started off pretty normal. We had Buckwheat Soba with beef, corn and asparagus, which Ignatius loved. Then we took a nap after which we set off to find Himderalla a pair of shoes. Unfortunately, none fit, and we didn't think it was too wise to buy him glass slippers.

We moved onto Aunty Yee Ling's place for a swim. It was raining, but the sun came out long enough for us to have a quick dip! Brrrr...the water sure was cold!

Maybe it was the invigorating swim, but Ignatius suddenly unveiled Superbaby powers!

1. He walks, he walks!

He cruised along the sofa until he came to one end. He reached out to Mommy for support, to continue on his journey. Mommy backed away, and tried to entice him to stand unsupported. Ignatius did better!

He balanced himself,
released one hand,
turned towards Mommy,
grinned cheekily,
released his other hand,
wobbled for 1 second,
took one step forward,
almost toppled,
brought the other foot forward,
and toppled into Mommy's arms!

DOES THAT COUNT AS 2 STEPS??

2. The mighty King Kong!

Ignatius came to the other end of the sofa. Successfully turned the corner, and came face to face with a bookcase. I think he saw the same temptation as King Kong when faced with the Empire State Building. To Climb It!

With one hand still resting on the sofa arm, he reached over to the bookcase with the other arm. Still too far away. And yet again, he balanced himself, with much concentration, released the hand holding the sofa, took one step towards the bookcase, and toppled forward to grab the 2nd level shelving. (We live in exciting times folks. Mommy is sad to say, we have no hat trick today.)

Having stabled himself gripping onto the 2nd level shelving, Ignatius put his left foot on the 1st level shelving and tried to do a chin up. I think he used up his Superbaby powers, or his tummy was too heavy for his arms. This try wasn't very successful. Mommy wasn't too regretful as this is one stunt we don't want him to learn in a hurry!

3. and thirdly, Ignatius finally decided to show us he can crawl...properly! *phew* we thought he was gonna skip this stage.

So all in all, this was a significant and memorable day for Ignatius! Too bad no photos. =)
