10:28 pm - Have you had your milk today?

Not sure if Mommy has mentioned this before...but Ignatius had blood in his stools when he was a wee little 2mth old infant. The suspected culprit was Formula Milk. His not-so-good pediatrician adviced us to go on Hypo-Allergenic Milk. Ignatius was then put on a diet of H.A. milk, and Mommy's Goodness. Mommy had to sell off her hoard of Formula Milk.

At 6mths, we tried re-introducing Formula Milk. This time, it resulted in vomitting, and welting of his skin where it came in contact with the milk. This time, his better-pediatrician said "NO MILK AT ALL". Mommy has to sell of her new hoard of Formula Milk.

Daddy was reluctant to go on Soy Milk as there were some controversies on Soy. Apparently, it contains high amounts of vita-estrogen (hope i got the spelling right) and may cause effeminity in males. So...no choice, back to full time Mommy's Goodness.

Then came the fateful day that Mommy fell sick with stomach flu, cum food poisoning. No choice, Ignatius had to be put on Soy Milk. For 2 wks....things seemed ok...until today! Ignatius has blood in his stools AGAIN!

We rushed down to his better-pediatrician, waited for 4.5hrs, and the final diagnosis was that Ignatius was intolerant to the protein in the milk, and this usually occurs for both Cow's and Soy milk. Fortunately, this intolerance does go away with age. YET AGAIN Mommy has to sell of her hoard of Soy Milk.

Sigh... So in the meantime, Ignatius is now on Rice Milk. And he's been banned from eating foods that contain Milk, Milk Proteins (Whey, Casein) and Egg. Should Mommy hoard up on Rice Milk???

My poor boy.
