10:50 am - Rasa Sayang Eh! - Back at Rasa Sentosa

We surveyed the house from our living room after the open house on Saturday...and decided we should just chuck everything aside and spend a luxurious 2 days at Rasa Sentosa, Shangri-La. This does seem to be our favourite place.

After all, it's our little BOY's birthday! So we packed our bags, and off we went!

Guess what's the first thing we did after we checked in? =)

Basically, Rasa Sentosa has 3 pools. A small shallow pool with a waterslide, a children's pool with a sloped-floor entry (as opposed to stairs), and a deep pool for adults. We put Ignatius on the sloping floor...and he loved it! He could walk and kick the water, and even CRAWL on the floor, and the water will only be up to his neck, depending on how far into the pool he wades (kind of like the beach/sea). Alas...this will prove to be our undoing later...

After the swim, Ignatius took a short nap. The sky leaked a bit...so we headed out to HarbourFront to buy some drinks and munchies...after all, it's not everyday you get free multiple entries into Sentosa!

Later that evening, we took a stroll along Siloso Beach in the evening sun. Ignatius loves walking on the sand. We tried to keep him on the concrete path so that he wouldn't get sand in his shoes...but failed miserably! (We took off his shoes in the end.) The little rascal wandered all over...he even went up to an Ang-Moh couple suntanning on the beach (the girl wearing a itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini) and kept going "Hi-ai!" despite them trying VERY HARD to ignore him (and the 2 bozo parents, who were trying desperately to steer their boy away). Imagine our embarressment!

We ended up in the Children's Play room. They had some ride-ons that rocked back and forth, a slide, and a doll's house. Ignatius had fun on the slide, but we gave up after a while as he was trying to climb up more than he was going down. Mommy went into the doll's house after that, but try as I might, I could NOT entice him inside! Maybe it was dim inside...or maybe he's too much of a man's man (yeah rite) to play with DOLL houses. *haha*

The next day, we had breakfast before...yups, heading back into the pool! Remember how we let him WALK around the pool yesterday? We did it again today! BIG mistake. When we finally hit the adult pool, Ignatius panicked! He couldn't put his feet on the floor! And from a confident water-boy, we have one that now is terrified, and clings to us tighter than a koala bear. *SOB* We spent the rest of the morning trying to re-build his water confidence, and cursing ourselves for our folly. So parents out there...beware!

Just before we checked out of the room, we gave Ignatius his final birthday present...
