The first sounds we heard when we got out of the car were the monkeys at the tree-top trail howling away. They appeared to either be protecting their turf, or the dude was trying to attract the dudette. Ignatius was scared of the loud hoots, and started crying. We moved off, only to encounter more howling by the Black Howler Monkey. Sigh. It sure was noisy. To pacify him, we went to visit his favourite Polar Bear. Even before we reached the exhibit, he was saying "Bear Bear!" excitedly. We were amazed.
It was feeding time for Inuka and his mate. There was a huge crowd, and we could only stand at the back. Despite this, Ignatius was so excited, he was shouting and clapping along with everyone when Inuka caught a fish.
From there, we proceeded to wait for the lions to have their meal. With time to spare, we paid a visit to the giraffes. Doesn't this pic look sweet? Ignatius couldn't fathom why they had such long necks and legs and kept staring unblinkingly at them. Mommy thinks they have the gentlest looking eyes.
Finally, the lions were on show. Ignatius was kicking his legs in excitment and going "LION! LION!". This boy seems to appreciate the bigger animals.
It was a humid day, and we were all pretty sticky by then. We trudged on, and discovered an area of the zoo we had missed on our last 2 visits. The snakes, reptiles and small mammals. We arrived at the snakes first...but they were so immobile, Ignatius didn't really pay them much heed. The highlight was walking through the reptile enclosure where Marmosets, Turtles and Iguanas are given free range.

After that, we reached the Small Mammels house. Ignatius had a nice time here as the small animals were very friendly, and came close to the glass window to show off their skills.
Here is one monkey eating his stick of veggie. Ignatius copied by eating his finger!
Next were the squirrels. Ignatius has only seen them fleetingly elsewhere as they dart up the trees.
After that came his favourite "Turtle Turtle!" His pronounciation of this is getting quite good.

Next were the Komodo Dragons having their meal. They were quite savage. Ignatius didn't seem to interested in them.

So we sat down for a little rest and Ignatius took a photo with Mommy.

The guess what? We finally found the penguins! We thought the zoo had removed them.
There was one particular fellow that kept parading back and forth in front of the glass panel. Ignatius loved the little fellow and kept pointing and laughing and shaking his head and waving his hands. Hence, the blur photo of Ignatius (face and hand).

After that, we decided it was time to make our way home. Ignatius made his way out on Daddy's shoulders.

As usual, Ignatius was totally tired out.
